About the role

Join our team of creative and efficient multi-disciplinary BIM design professionals. You will be involved in designing challenging and complex projects for Amazon-owned data center facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Design Engineering team through the preparation of Structural BIM models and documentation, leveraging BIM data.
  • Influence data center design documents for structural systems, exterior envelope design, site and civil planning, material lifecycle and sustainability, seismic considerations, and building code compliance.
  • Prepare and maintain Structural drawing sets for our fleet of data centers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings to resolve clashes and ensure design consistency.
  • Support concurrent projects in multiple geographic locations.
  • Assist in information exchange processes between internal and external customers in a Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Record and report key metrics to management.
  • Travel to data center sites for engineering evaluations and surveys, as required.
  • Offer creative, out-of-the-box solutions and maintain a positive attitude.

Requirements

Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
5+ years of Structural design experience on mission critical, industrial, or complex commercial facilities
4+ years of experience using Revit for producing Structural BIM models and construction drawings
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Structural Engineering
Experience directly related to the design or construction of data centers
Experience in multi-discipline collaboration on AutoDesk BIM 360, Construction Cloud, and/or Forma
Familiarity with the BIM Forum LOD Specification, as well as applying Lean principles to design modeling, drawing production, and Revit Family creation.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Autodesk Revit for Structural BIM modeling and construction documentation.
  • Strong understanding of structural systems, exterior envelope design, site and civil planning, material lifecycle and sustainability, seismic considerations, and building code compliance.
  • Proficiency in using software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Dynamo, RF Tools, CTC Tools, Smartsheet, and Procore.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

$116,800.00 - $160,000.00 USD annually
