Responsibilities
- Lead the direction, coordination, planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility.
- Participate in business development activities with existing and new clients to help win new projects, and communicate with clients to understand project requirements.
- Plan and formulate engineering program and organize project staff according to project requirements.
- Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings and materials using various building codes.
- Absorb and assist with damage assessment and cause and origin investigations.
- Prepare field notes, feasibility studies, cost analyses, and specifications.
- Communicate with clients to understand project requirements.
- Complete technical and investigative reports to support forensic findings and prepare materials related to presentations.
- Manage and mentor other design team members.
- Perform peer reviews and condition assessments, including order of magnitude cost estimating.
Requirements
- 8+ years of structural engineering experience, including demonstrated project and staff management similar in function, size and scope to the above description.
- Master’s degree in structural engineering or a related field preferred.
- Professional Engineer and/or SE License required.
- Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines.
