Structural Analyst II- Core mechanical Lunar Permanence

About the role

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. The goal is to build sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

Responsibilities

• Solve a variety of static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools)
• Acceleration, shock, and vibration analysis
• Finite Element Model development, refinement, validation, and correlation to tests
• Solid foundation of structural static/dynamic fundamentals
• Support configuration development and trade studies of separation mechanisms

Requirements

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace or civil engineering
• 3+ years of experience in structural analysis of space/aerospace vehicles/structures/mechanisms
• Solid foundation of structural static/dynamic fundamentals
• Ability to solve a variety of static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools)

Qualifications

• Passion for spacecraft structural/environmental loads development/validation

Skills

• Spacecraft Mechanism's/systems analysis
• Hyperworks, NASTRAN, ANSYS, Abaqus and Matlab proficiency
• Fatigue and Fracture Analysis

Pay

Base Pay Range For CA applicants is $99,201.00 - $138,880.35 CO applicants is $90,934.00 - $127,307.25 WA applicants is $99,201.00 - $138,880.35 Other Site Ranges May Differ
