About the role
The Boeing Oklahoma City Derivative Aircraft Structural Integrity Analysis group supports Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) and Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT) analysis for multiple Boeing commercial derivative military aircraft platforms including KC-135, RC-135, E-4B, E-6, E-7, and KC-767.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic structural analysis using established tools and methods to assess structural environments, characteristics, and performance
- Support in-service products by helping investigate failures and identify potential improvements
- Collaborate with team members, program managers, regulatory agencies, and operational users on various projects
- Support test execution and analyze/report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
- Aid in documenting certification and test results to demonstrate compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to product design and help verify structural integrity using analytical methods, finite element models, simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle
- Coordinate with other engineering groups to help define the product’s environment
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences)
- 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience multi-tasking and working in a team environment
- Experience working collaboratively to reach decisions that are mutually acceptable to multiple engineering and support teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with aerospace stress analysis and/or structural analysis
- Experience performing Durability and Damage Tolerance Analysis for Aircraft
- Experience executing Aircraft Structural Integrity Programs (ASIP)
- Experience performing stress, thermal, fatigue, fastener, and tolerance analysis using analysis software and manual hand calculations
- Experience with Finite Element Modeling
