Stroke Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)

Position Duties

• Works as a self-directed professional with the ability to make independent decisions in providing direct patient care.
• Utilize strong communication skills and be able to work in a fast-paced, complex work environment of acute stroke care and triage.
• Demonstrate electronic medical record skills and willingness to learn necessary health IT applications to promote maximum clinical efficiency as well as use of stroke triage software Viz Ai.
• Completes appropriate documentation of all evaluations, care and services rendered in the electronic medical record.
• Maintains knowledge of current medical trends in ongoing professional development in pertinent medical fields.

Qualifications

• Standard Qualifications: Master's Degree in Nursing OR a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies
• Work Experience: Experience in Stroke or related field preferred but not required.
• Certification, Licensure, Registration: State of Michigan Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license required. BLS certification required. ENLS certificate will be required and can be obtained after hire.
