About the role
The Striping Foreman position oversees and assists a crew performing pavement striping, maintenance, and adheres to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Supervises and trains a crew of laborers and operators.
- Reads plans, specifications, and schematics.
- Lays out pavement markings.
- Handles and installs all materials for pavement markings.
- Loads and unloads material on a flatbed truck and/or trailers by hand, operates a front-end loader, forklift, and other equipment.
- Conducts truck inspections and communicates deficiencies to management.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years striping/payment marking and Traffic Control or related industry experience.
- Class A CDL preferred but not required.

Requirements
- Required Skills:
- Repeated physical effort including driving for several hours per day or several hours at a time, standing and walking for extended periods of time (more than several hours), loading and unloading equipment into and out of company vehicles, walking on varying ground surfaces, and frequently lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Operating hand/power tools, manual dexterity to operate keyboards and smart phones, physical agility to use arms, legs, and hands repetitively.
- Working from elevated platforms, ladders, or truck beds.
- Working outdoors, working safely under adverse environmental and weather conditions which include high speed traffic areas, heavy construction equipment, fuel fumes, and construction substances.
- Comfortable around vehicles moving through work zones and maintaining constant awareness of surroundings on construction site including placement of machinery and equipment, other employees, and construction activities.
- Vision adequate to see moving vehicles, read highway construction MOT signs, read instructions, manuals, reports, and construction plans.
- Hearing adequate to hear approaching vehicles, audible commands at a distance from supervisors, conversations in person, and over the telephone.
- Communicating clearly - both written and verbally, ability to complete daily paperwork as required by supervisor.
- Working a flexible schedule which can include day or night shifts, weekends and/or holidays, adjusting to a changing work schedule, working overtime, and working individually and as a team with other employees.
- Valid driver's license required, with three years of experience, will require passing MVR and controlled substance test, may require background and criminal record check.
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
- Maintain company standards post-employment for background checks, criminal record, driving record, and controlled substance/drug testing.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
- Strong team building, decision-making, and people management skills.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
