Responsibilities
- Performing stress analysis and related activities for new and derivative designs of interior furnishings and amenities as part of outfitting new aircraft.
- Reviewing engineering models and drawings, preparing load calculations, finite element models, and writing stress reports in collaboration with the Structural Engineering group and Structural AR's providing approvals.
- Preparing analysis of airframe modifications to meet the requirements of interior installation.
- Conducting aircraft level analysis such as decompression and floor loading analysis.
- Executing assignments under the direction of the Engineering Lead or Group Head to meet Engineering, Certification, and manufacturing schedules.
- Applying analysis methods and design standards consistent with company standards and accepted methods.
Requirements
- Sufficient knowledge of AutoCAD and CATIA V5 CAD tools to review engineering designs.
- FEA experience with FEMAP preferred.
- Follows established schedules while developing plans for engineering assignments.
- Obtains appropriate level of supervisor approvals for work accuracy and adequacy.
- Proficiently applies company/organization policies and procedures.
- Works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements.
- Maintains a current and up-to-date knowledge of developments and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in assigned field of expertise.
Qualifications
- Solves typical engineering problems within assigned discipline.
- Provides technical assistance to engineering staff and contributes to completion of project milestones.
- Responsible for a complex engineering assignment, or a full project of lesser complexity.
- Applies knowledge to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity, using a combination of judgment with defined practices and procedures.
Skills
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and CATIA V5 CAD tools.
- Experience with FEA and FEMAP.
- Ability to prepare load calculations and finite element models.
- Technical problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow established schedules.
