About the role
Strawser Construction Inc. is growing and seeking Laborers to join our crews. This role involves advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers’ needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform general laborer duties, including extended periods of walking, laying materials according to job specifications, and cleaning roadway surfaces
- Operate a variety of equipment and vehicles, including transporting construction equipment and materials
- Maintain traffic control safely, including flagging duties
- Keep equipment and tools in good working condition
- Work in a team-oriented environment
- Perform other duties as assigned to assist the crew
- Adhere to safety practices and procedures at all times
- Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Climb in and out of vehicles and/or equipment regularly
- Stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently
- Stand and walk across uneven terrain regularly
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- CDL preferred; must obtain within one year
- Previous highway experience preferred
- OSHA 10 Hour Training or Flagger Certification a plus
- Ability to work varying hours, including nights, weekends, and overnight travel with stays
- Must be able to travel 75-90% of the time
