About the Role
The Strategy Associate will work directly with the co-CEOs, turning Ocorian's strategic priorities into well-planned, sequenced, and delivered initiatives. This role bridges intent and execution, ensuring Group-level decisions are implemented on time with measurable impact. Ocorian is a global business with over 2,000 colleagues across 20+ countries, serving thousands of clients in asset management, private wealth, and corporate services. The role provides high-quality execution capacity to the co-CEOs, structuring initiatives, building plans with business owners, and facilitating delivery.
This is a hands-on, early-career role with senior executive exposure, offering real ownership of workstreams and insight into how a global regulated financial services business operates.
Responsibilities
- Strategy Execution:
- Facilitate strategy setting and articulation with the co-CEOs and executive team.
- Translate Group and service line strategic priorities into clear workplans with named owners, milestones, dependencies, and success measures.
- Scope new initiatives with the sponsoring executive, defining problem statements, options, resource requirements, timelines, and expected value.
- Maintain a single, current view of strategic agenda progress and report at executive leadership level.
- Follow through on decisions to ensure actions are assigned, understood, and completed.
- Analysis, Insight & Support to the co-CEO:
- Prepare analysis on markets, competitors, clients, and internal performance to inform strategic choices.
- Turn complex or incomplete information into clear, actionable insights.
- Draft papers, presentations, and briefing notes for the executive team, Board, and external audiences.
- Own discrete projects end-to-end on behalf of the co-CEO.
- Handle confidential and commercially sensitive material with discretion.
Requirements
- Two to four years' experience in a business manager, project management, strategy, programme, or chief of staff role—ideally in financial or professional services, consulting, banking, or fintech start-ups/scale-ups.
- Strong academic record; a relevant degree or professional qualification is welcome but not essential.
- Structured problem-solving: ability to break down ambiguous questions, analyze data, and reach defensible conclusions.
- Exceptional PowerPoint and presentation skills, including the ability to create clear, well-designed executive and board-level decks.
- Clear, concise written English, with comfort drafting for executive and Board audiences.
- Project management discipline: ability to manage plans, actions, owners, deadlines, and follow-ups.
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders across cultures and time zones.
- Genuine interest in financial services, outsourcing solutions, and practical AI applications.
- Comfort exploring and using AI tools daily, championing new use cases and adoption.
- Entrepreneurial ownership: willingness to roll up sleeves, dive into details, and drive initiatives to completion.
- Ability to stay organized when priorities shift quickly, keeping track of multiple workstreams.
- Quick learner, able to master unfamiliar subjects to a useful depth.
