Strategic Sourcing Manager

This role will develop, implement, and maintain a category sourcing and inventory strategy supporting enterprise and Supply Chain objectives. You’ll advise internal stakeholders on critical supply decisions, combining analytical thinking with hands-on implementation to solve complex inventory and sourcing challenges.

Responsibilities

• Inventory Management/Optimization: Serve as a subject matter expert on reducing cost through contracting, utilization, and inventory. Optimize inventory and product mix to support hospital operations while lowering overall system costs. Manage implementation, utilization, and maintenance of perpetual inventory systems to ensure accurate replenishment and patient charge transactions. Collaborate with Materials Management/Logistics to optimize storage locations and implement new technologies for inventory management and lot tracking/dating. Maintain effective communication with all internal and external customers.
• Category Management: Develop and implement category strategic plans. Establish policies, procedures, and best practices in category management. Assess new technology and its impact on strategic plans within the category. Develop and manage consignment inventory programs where appropriate.
• Vendor/Contract Management: Maintain positive vendor trade relations and develop strategic alliances. Conduct RFPs as required and negotiate strategic contracts for specific product categories.
• Other Duties As Assigned: Incumbents may be assigned additional responsibilities, including:
  • Diversity Supplier Program
  • Reptrax system management
  • Recall Management processes

Qualifications

• Minimum Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience (6-10 years).
  • 3-5 years of equivalent experience.
• Preferred:
  • Master’s Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP).
  • 6-10 years of equivalent experience.
