Position Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy
- Lead strategic supplier development to meet cost, quality, delivery, and agreement targets that support increased ramp up and production rates
- Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Operations to identify and engage critical suppliers
- Manage multiple commodity categories (mechanical, electronics, raw materials, etc.) and develop new sources of supply
- Drive implementation of long-term agreements (LTAs, BPAs, TA’s, MOU’s) and establish clear supplier relationship frameworks
- Support make/buy decisions and risk mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply - Operational Excellence
- Oversee key supplier relationships to ensure compliance with program requirements and company policies
- Forward thinking in sourcing needs and the related strategies
- Solid supplier/product technical and sourcing knowledge
- Ensure all agreements meet FAR/DFARS and CPSR standards
- Develop plans and timelines that define critical supplier risk, performance, availability, and value proposition targets
- Lead supplier strategy, supplier identification, supplier categorization, and supplier improvement initiatives
- Partner with internal stakeholders to guarantee key/critical supplier relationships and mutually beneficial relationships
- Support internal, AS9100, and CPSR audit readiness activities - Supplier Management & Relationship Building
- Drive supplier innovation, reduced lead times, and achievement of cost targets
- Manage supplier escalations and create recovery plans for schedule or quality issues
- Conduct key supplier evaluations, business reviews and lead performance improvement initiatives
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of sourcing experience, including ≥3 years in a supplier development role
- Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS, supplier agreements, and CPSR compliant procurement practices
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- Master's degree in business or supply chain management
- Strong price, terms and delivery negotiation experience
- Strong executive presence and ability to present strategy and technical information for alignment and approval at multiple organizational levels
- Proficiency in PPT, Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- APICS/ASCM or CPSM certification
- Demonstrated success implementing strategic sourcing and supplier development programs
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and engage at all organizational levels
