We are a growing industrial organization seeking a Strategic Sourcing Lead to drive sourcing initiatives, supplier strategy, and cost optimization efforts across multiple business units. This role partners closely with operations, engineering, planning, and procurement teams to support new product introductions, improve supplier performance, and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing initiatives supporting both new product introductions and existing product lines.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve supplier performance, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Support supplier evaluations, negotiations, and sourcing transitions as needed.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through analysis, supplier engagement, and process improvements.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders across operations, engineering, planning, and procurement functions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify sourcing opportunities and support implementation efforts.
- Facilitate communication between strategic sourcing functions and operational teams to ensure alignment and execution.
- Support supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage sourcing projects from identification through implementation.
- Establish reporting tools, performance metrics, and tracking mechanisms to improve visibility and accountability.
- Identify opportunities to standardize processes and leverage efficiencies across sites and suppliers.
- Support business integration, process improvement, and change management activities.
- Analyze supplier, spend, and operational data to support sourcing decisions.
- Evaluate business cases and recommend sourcing strategies based on cost, quality, and service considerations.
- Track project performance and communicate progress to leadership and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or category management.
- Experience supporting both new product sourcing and cost reduction initiatives.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive results across cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments.
Preferred Background
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, engineered products, or related environments.
- Familiarity with supplier cost analysis, sourcing strategy development, and procurement best practices.
- Experience supporting business integration or transformation initiatives.
Approximately 10-30% travel as needed.
