Responsibilities

• The Strategic Sourcing Buyer represents the centralized supply chain function and is responsible for sourcing materials, equipment, and services that keep IPS locations and customers running. This role leads competitive sourcing events, negotiates pricing and commercial terms, and leverages spend across regions in partnership with regional buyers. The Strategic Sourcing Buyer works within the national agreement structure and category management framework to deliver measurable savings, supplier performance, and supply continuity.
• Lead requests for quotation (RFQs) and requests for proposal (RFPs), from specification through award.
• Evaluate and qualify suppliers on price, quality, delivery, capability, financial stability, and risk.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, warranties, and other commercial terms that protect IPS and its customers.
• Prepare sourcing recommendations supported by total cost analysis and clear rationale.
• Follow the national agreement structures and category management strategies established by IPS.
• Source within these agreements and align purchasing decisions to them.
• Partner with centralized category management to develop, maintain, and improve national agreements.
• Identify when a requirement falls outside an existing agreement and raise it to category management for review.
• Leverage spend across regions by coordinating with regional buyers to consolidate volume and secure better terms.
• Serve as the supply chain representative for the centralized supply chain function with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Understand the IPS business and its key customers, and prioritize sourcing activity to support
