Strategic Purchasing Specialist

Essential Responsibilities

• Develop, publish, and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS)
• Create detailed schedules that align with customer requirements, production capacity, and material availability
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Demand Planning to translate demand forecasts into executable production plans
• Identify and resolve capacity constraints and material shortages in advance to mitigate production risks
• Manage planning parameters such as lead times, safety stocks, and planning horizons in the ERP system
• Support new product introductions and engineering changes by coordinating production readiness
• Provide clear communication of production priorities and schedule changes to manufacturing and supporting departments
• Monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory and develop plans to deal with it accordingly

Skills, Training, Knowledge & Experience

• Associate Degree or Certificate in Business Administration, Accounting, or Procurement/Supply Chain
• Three to five years’ experience in purchasing or procurement support
• Strong spreadsheet and word processing skills
• General understanding of material and inventory control procedures
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well
• Excellent telephone etiquette
• Ability to use office equipment such as a personal computer, calculator, and copier
