About the role

The Strategic Project Manager will lead the development and implementation of the City’s One Water Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO). This position manages key elements of the One Water portfolio, including project prioritization, capital improvement planning, and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans that define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Lead project teams, facilitating communication and collaboration to ensure project goals are met efficiently.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that arise.
  • Manage the business use case process for utility capital projects and investments.
  • Oversee the annual capital improvement planning process for One Water.
  • Ensure strategic alignment of utility investments through development and tracking of performance metrics.
  • Support the quarterly project tracking process for each portfolio.
  • Prepare and present regular project updates to stakeholders, including government officials and public entities.
  • Conduct thorough program evaluations, recommending improvements and best practices for future program enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably within government and/or water utility administration.
  • Project Management Professional certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and software.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of making sound decisions under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Pay

$50.00–65.00 per hour based on relevant experience.

Schedule

Part-time hourly.
