Roles & Responsibilities
- Price proposals for contracts and grants (federal, state/local and commercial), from proposal kickoff, through pricing inputs, to final review and submission.
- Provide strategic bid and fee guidance to our internal customers and senior leadership.
- Affiliate in gate reviews, black hats, Bid/no-Bid decisions, and Price-to-Win assessments for larger opportunities.
- Create pricing models and business cases considering such things as ROI, NPV, and pricing construct (e.g. licenses, FFP, cost plus).
- Affiliate with win-loss analyses and help create internal benchmarks, metrics, and pricing analytics.
- Maintain trends and best practices in pricing and proposal preparation. Recommend pricing improvements.
- Respond to ad hoc requests from senior executives including CFO.
- Develop, implement, and update pricing methodologies (T&M, FFP, International) used by pricers across MITRE Finance.
- Affiliate with pricing-related trainings in Finance, Contracts, and other MITRE staff.
Basic Qualifications
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Ability to independently create pricing proposals, preferably in ProPricer.
- Experience with federal pricing and with submitting proposals for both Federal grants and contracts.
- Familiarity with cost recovery and cost structures, including terms such as wrap rates, fringe, overhead and G&A.
- Possesses understanding of common basis for Federal pricing evaluations: LPTA, Best Value, Best Value Trade Off, etc.
- Demonstrated success with independent researching and creating financial models.
- Familiarity with capture support and price-to-win.
- Awareness of CAS & FAR regulations.
- Effectively communicate insights and results to an executive audience.
- Must have an active Secret U.S Government issued Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Knowledge of resources (e.g., GovWin, FPDS, and salary survey databases) used identify opportunities and research current contracts/incumbents to assist in qualifying bid opportunities preferred.
- Basic knowledge of FFRDC’s and UARC’s preferred.

Annual Work Location Type: Hybrid
Salary compensation range and midpoint: $96,000 - $120,000 - $144,000
