Strategic Gifts Officer, Diocese of Allentown

About the role

The Strategic Gifts Officer plays a crucial role in developing and executing fundraising strategies to support the mission and growth of the Diocese of Allentown. This position requires exceptional interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of philanthropic opportunities, and the ability to manage relationships with donors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans that align with the strategic goals of the Diocese.
• Identify and cultivate major donors, securing significant contributions through personal outreach and relationship building.
• Manage donor relations, ensuring ongoing engagement and stewardship of gifts received.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate fundraising efforts into overall organizational initiatives.
• Stay informed about trends in philanthropy and adjust strategies accordingly to maximize impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferably in business, communications, or nonprofit management).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising or related field.
• Proven track record of successful fundraising campaigns and donor acquisition.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working within a Catholic organization is a plus.
• Knowledge of Catholic social teaching and its application to fundraising.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
