Strategic Finance - Business Operations Lead
Snowflake · Menlo Park, CA · 2 days ago
Management$225k–$310k/yrFull-time
About the role
We are hiring a Business Operations Lead to be the AI-native operator and quarterback for Snowflake's most important commercial launches and strategic pursuit deals.
- You will run the operating cadence that takes a launch from intake through go-live and supports qualifying deals from intake through close, ensuring every cross-functional team has the awareness, context, and lead time they need to execute against their own playbook.
- You will be the connective tissue that holds the launch and deals coalitions together.
- AI is not a tool you reach for occasionally. It is your default operating mode.
- You ship agents, build automated workflows, and use AI to extract leverage on every recurring process you touch.
- You will partner closely with leaders across Product, Engineering, Pricing, Legal, Revenue Accounting, Deal Desk, Sales Compensation, Sales Operations, Billing, Reporting, and Enablement.
Responsibilities
- Deliver at least two production AI-assisted workflows that demonstrably reduce coordination time for the Strategic Finance team within the first 90 days.
- Serve as the central coordinator for every qualifying commercial launch. Track each cross-functional team's progress against their own playbook, surface gaps, and ensure dependencies are visible to the right owners with enough lead time to resolve. Use AI-driven tracking and signaling to scale your visibility across the launch portfolio.
- Coordinate execution across Pricing, Legal, Revenue Accounting, Deal Desk, Sales Compensation, Sales Operations, Systems, Billing, Reporting, Enablement, Product, Engineering, and go-to-market stakeholders. Run the standing launch forums, drive decisions to closure, and keep every team aligned on timing, scope, and dependencies.
- Scale Strategic Deal Alerts and the AI-Native OS. Scale and improve Strategic Deal Alerts, building on the recently launched motion that surfaces competitive and emerging deals to the right Product and GTM owners along with the context, win-rate intelligence, and actions they need to engage at the right time. Build the AI-assisted workflows, signals, and tooling that scale cross-functional coordination across the team. Make AI-native operations the default mode for how Strategic Finance works across functions.
- Maintain and improve the program management operating system: intake form, RACI, status reporting cadence, escalation paths, and communication templates that make launches repeatable. Each cross-functional team owns their domain checklist; this role owns the connective tissue between them.
- Cover Strategic Launch Categories. Coordinate launches across pricing and monetization, new market entry, strategic partnerships, new business models and commercial model shifts, M&A commercialization, and non-standard commercial motions. Distinct from standard product launches that the existing go-to-market motion handles.
- Provide program management support to the Strategic Pursuits team on qualifying deals: deal readiness, bid management, and cross-functional sequencing across Pricing, Legal, Revenue Accounting, and go-to-market partners. Help build out the operating motion that scales new business models from Strategic Pursuits incubation through graduation to standard go-to-market.
- Run the Launch Portfolio. Maintain the active launch portfolio. Run a monthly portfolio review and a quarterly retrospective that surfaces patterns, calibrates coordination practices, and feeds lessons back into the playbook. Default to AI-driven portfolio analytics over manual status decks.
- Take load off the Finance Leads. Carry the communication, status reporting, and meeting overhead that would otherwise fall on the Strategic Finance leads. Translate substance from the leads into the artifacts cross-functional partners and executives need. Use AI to draft, summarize, and distribute so the leads see leverage from day one.
- Surface risk early. Surface execution risks that could lead to post-launch billing errors, revenue recognition issues, or commercial side-letter discoveries. Escalate to the right cross-functional owner with enough lead time to resolve.
- Communicate up and out. Produce launch and deal status reports, executive updates, and steering committee materials that connect launch operations to commercial outcomes, key risks, and decisions in flight. Survive senior leadership review on first submission.
Requirements
- Demonstrated AI-native operating fluency. You have shipped production AI-assisted workflows or agents at a prior role: prompts, evaluations, integrations, deployment to real users.
- 6+ years of experience in business operations, commercial operations, program management, product operations, revenue operations, deal desk, chief of staff, or equivalent cross-functional roles at a scaling technology company.
- Demonstrated track record running cross-functional programs across multiple stakeholder groups (e.g., Pricing, Legal, Revenue Accounting, Sales Operations, Product, Engineering, and go-to-market).
- Strong program management instincts. Track record of building or operating intake, status, escalation, and communication systems that scale across teams.
- Working understanding of cloud and software-as-a-service commercial models: pricing and packaging, billing and metering, revenue recognition, commercial contracting, deal cycles, and post-launch operations.
- Strong communicator with executive presence. Capable of translating cross-functional complexity into clean executive narratives, running productive multi-stakeholder meetings, and driving alignment in writing.
- Comfort with ambiguity. Willingness to operate without a fully defined playbook on launches and deals that are precedent-setting and not covered by existing process.
- High-trust, low-ego working style. You earn the right to coordinate by serving the cross-functional teams you partner with, not by claiming authority you do not have.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Systems Research or Operations, Math or Statistics, or related discipline.
- MBA, PMP, or equivalent program management credential preferred.
Skills
- Hands-on experience building agentic operating tools (alerts, dashboards, signals, workflow automation) for cross-functional coordination at a high-growth cloud, data, AI, or SaaS company.
- Experience supporting strategic deal cycles: deal readiness, bid management, cross-functional sequencing on enterprise commercial agreements.
- Experience commercializing M&A acquisitions or new business models in a multi-product portfolio.
- Familiarity with consumption-based and usage-based pricing in cloud, data, or AI platforms.
- Familiarity with revenue accounting (ASC 606), SOX controls, and audit-ready process design.
- SQL fluency and comfort working directly with commercial data in a cloud data platform.
