About the Role
The Strategic Finance Analyst supports the company's cross-departmental long-term planning and forecasting efforts. The role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s Strategic Model, providing data-driven insights to leadership to support decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the company’s Strategic Model and update senior leadership.
- Update Allegiant’s peers' financial models (OAL's) and inform leadership on the industry's financial performance.
- Provide recurring updates to credit agencies on Allegiant’s future financial performance, capital structure, and ad-hoc data requests.
- Produce materials for quarterly board meetings and earnings calls to support leadership.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to support the Investor Relations, Sustainability, and Finance teams.
- Model Allegiant's customer service standards in personal actions and when providing direction.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, and/or Engineering.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in business, economics, and/or math, with the ability to create spreadsheet models and produce relevant outputs.
- Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment and safely perform the essential functions of the position.
- Strong quantitative, qualitative, financial acumen, and scenario analysis skills.
- Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint, Excel).
- Proficiency in building and interpreting complex financial models, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows.
- Familiarity with the airline industry’s financial challenges, GAAP vs. non-GAAP accounting, supply and demand dynamics, and cost-efficiency measures.
- Ability to meet timelines across multiple projects, effective problem-solving, and high attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Airline or transport industry interest.
- Experience with Tableau, Python, SQL/Athena, and SAP.
- Master’s degree.
- Knowledge of aircraft financing mechanisms (EETC, sale-leaseback, finance leases, mortgage debt, JOLCO).
- Capital markets acumen, particularly in the aviation sector.
- Understanding of valuation methodologies in capital-intensive industries, including equity and debt perspectives.
- Experience with airline-specific financial data sources (SEC filings, DOT Form 41/T-100/O&D, ICAO M3).
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands/fingers to operate office equipment.
- May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs.
- May require working various shifts in a 24-hour environment.
- Exposure to moderate noise, temperature, and light fluctuations in an office setting.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and sit at a computer terminal for extended periods.
- Some travel may be required.
- Must have sufficient vision and physical ability to perform essential functions safely.
