About Us

Seaman Corporation is dedicated to creating and supplying quality, high-performance fabrics that protect our planet, our people, and our customers. Founded in 1949, this family-owned business has grown into a leading manufacturer of highly durable coated fabrics, serving customers globally. Our products include proprietary knitted or woven base fabrics and coating formulas used in high-performance roofing systems, geomembrane liners, truck tarps, architectural structures, and more. We collaborate exclusively with authorized fabricators, designers, consultants, engineers, and installers to deliver quality solutions from start to finish.

About the Role

Seaman Corporation is seeking a Strategic Business Development Manager to accelerate growth of our Industrial Fabrics business by developing relationships with facility owners, municipalities, consultants, and industry influencers. Reporting to the Industrial Fabrics Sales Director, this role will lead strategic market development efforts focused on increasing specification adoption and creating demand for Seaman Corporation's geomembrane and industrial fabric solutions.

The Strategic Business Development Manager will identify and cultivate opportunities with key decision-makers, influence project specifications, and position Seaman Corporation as the preferred supplier for critical infrastructure and containment applications. Success will be measured by the ability to expand market share, generate project opportunities, strengthen industry partnerships, and drive long-term revenue growth.

This role requires experience navigating complex sales cycles, an understanding of engineering principles, and the ability to collaborate across customer and partner ecosystems. Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance standards, and procurement processes—particularly in containment and environmental applications—is essential. Financial acumen in discussing project feasibility and unit economics is also required. Experience with geomembrane or related material specifications within Power Generation, Oil & Gas, and Potable & Wastewater sectors is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a portfolio of customers and partners within key industry segments, including owners, engineering firms, consultants, contractors, fabricators, and installers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key industry decision-makers to create a network that promotes Seaman Corporation products.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure scope of deliverables, timelines, and budgetary demands are met.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies for segments, working with fellow Strategic Business Development Managers and Direct Sales teams to drive compliance, growth, and brand awareness.
  • Independently pitch and close complex sales presentations.
  • Conduct negotiations with major companies and key decision-makers at the senior executive level and C-Suite.
  • Identify opportunities and collaborate with internal teams to fully support customer goals.
  • Oversee sales performance to meet and exceed target sales goals.
  • Ensure accurate pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience selling within the Geomembrane market, preferably with a focus on containment systems, geomembranes, or related industries.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience working with Power Generation, Oil & Gas companies, Water treatment facilities, procurement processes, and navigating regulatory environments.
  • Familiarity with geomembrane products and environmental containment solutions.
  • Proven capabilities in growing relationships at the senior executive level and C-Suite for global Fortune 500 companies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop opportunities and close new business or expansion sales.
  • Successful track record of achieving immediate credibility; presenting varying ideas to create value and challenge the status quo; and the ability to think quickly, listen well, and adapt approaches in front of clients and key influencers.
