About the role
Gemini Industries Inc. seeks an innovative and results-oriented individual to join our team as a Strategic Basing and Facilities Advisor. This role supports National Security projects and requires a strong background in facilities management and strategic basing.
Responsibilities
- Formally track all tasks, to include: assigned by, suspense, status, and comments on all assigned tasks through completion and be prepared to brief upon request.
- Create digital continuity folders and files that include standard operating procedures, workflows, and POC lists to accomplish all tasks.
- Develop 2-3 products beyond the client’s requirements that positively impact the client to either increase efficiency, effectiveness, or innovation.
- Establish foundation in AI/ML skills and contribute to AI/ML operationalization and modernization goals and objectives.
- Master position tasks within 60 days and exceed requirements within 90 days.
- Use government provided Generative AI tools on a day-to-day basis to accelerate tasks, research, documentation, analysis, planning, reporting, and problem solving.
- Provide subject matter expertise to SAF/CDME facilities and strategic basing initiatives, to include insights and recommendations, to time-sensitive and high-profile strategic basing efforts.
- Coordinate activities to address basing actions at the senior levels of Air Force installations and engineering offices (i.e., ACC A58, SAF/IE and other MPCO stakeholders).
- Advises on day-to-day basing and facilities actions to align with U.S. Department of Defense’s overarching goals and objectives.
- Supports workspace analysis, identifies space requirements, and compares them to available capacity.
- Helps the organization determine current footprint needs and makes recommendations on how to optimize workspace and facilities.
- Conduct surveys, data collection, or other analytic activities to support leadership decision making in facilities planning efforts.
- Recommend and draft policies, procedures, operating instructions, guides, or other documents to support the formulation of effective strategies and activities to facilitate MPCO facilities management and support functions.
- Advise MPCO on DoD and AF facilities management policies, guidance and directives regarding facilities use and planning.
- Advise and assist with securing facilities/infrastructure support for MPCO personnel in remote or command-hosted locations.
- Develop and deliver information and decision briefings on MPCO facility management activities as requested by the government.
- Communicate horizontally and vertically within the organization to ensure facilities planning and management activities are coordinated and synchronized within MPCO and with higher headquarters.
- Perform cost estimations and conduct funding and budget analysis to support facilities management activities.
- Provide day-to-day functional facility/logistical office support.
- Submit work orders to correct any and all maintenance, facility repairs, and deficiencies within the CDM facilities.
- Aid in the management of the property book items at CDM locations ensuring that accurate and updated accountability of personnel and equipment is maintained.
- Maintain accurate and updated seating plans that identify the number of workspaces within facilities by classification levels and all equipment located at each position.
- Aid in the disposal of excess Department of Defense personal property, foreign excess personal property, scrap, hazardous waste, and property requiring demilitarization.
- Be prepared to assist in completing necessary documents, arranging for disposal solutions, and training personnel in disposal turn-in procedures.
- Make recommendations on process improvements and practices that improve quality, speed, and/or efficiency.
Qualifications
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of related work experience, minimum of ten (10) years of specific functional experience in support of a DOD component.
- In-depth understanding of DOD operations, structure, and functions, including familiarity with joint military operations, command structures, and interagency coordination.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies to effectively plan, organize, and execute operational initiatives.
- Capable of overseeing work of others.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with the highest levels of management.
- Experience providing recommendations to senior leadership.
- Experience identifying, proposing mitigations, and mitigating risk.
- Possesses specialized knowledge in area of expertise of facilities management to provide informed advice and support.
- Understanding of the DOD environment, acquisition processes, and the ability to offer expertise in decision making.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting CDM, CDMX.
- Air Force support experience.
- Base Civil Engineer Experience.
- Knowledge and experience with strategic basing actions and processes IAW DAFI 10-503.
- Knowledgeable and skilled in applying Generative AI.
