Strategic Aftermarket Buyer
About the role
This Strategic Aftermarket Buyer is accountable for the Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Features (QDCF) of suppliers within their owned aftermarket portfolio. You will be responsible for the development of the portfolio business plan and coordination of its implementation through the selection of the right suppliers, and by continuously securing supplier QDCF performance by using the tools and purchasing/cross-functional network.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, negotiation, and implementation of strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance, enhanced product quality, innovative technology, and maximum value
- Drive negotiations and executive agreements with suppliers within your portfolio
- Cook up portfolio business plans for aftermarket products and be an active member in the global network of Buyers
- Collaborate with other members of the global supply chain to successfully develop and execute global supply chain and technology strategies
- Use Volvo Performance System (VPS) toolbox to drive efficiency across the supply chain
- Drive all relevant activities to deliver on Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Features targets (QDCF)
- Monitor, identify, and mitigate risks in cooperation with the Supply Network Quality (SNQ) team
- Forecast cost evolution for scope of responsibility
- Manage and negotiate product/processes and portfolio changes
- Perform daily purchasing activities related to production orders, logistics, and financial flows to the suppliers
Qualifications
- Either 9+ years of strategic purchasing (e.g. end-to-end supplier relationship management, sourcing, negotiations, contracts) experience, or related internal experience referenced above
- Experience within the automotive manufacturing industry and aftermarket
- Proven negotiation and communication skills
- Strong business acumen, agile in way of working
- Desire to work in a collaborative team towards a common purpose
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent working experience)
