As a Strategic Account Executive, you are the face of Cigna to the client, cultivating relationships, addressing client issues, and selling annual renewal rate increases along with new products and services to expand the relationship.
Responsibilities
- Act as a key influencer and trusted advisor, cultivating strong, personal relationships with decision-makers and other key stakeholders.
- Develop deep understanding of clients’ businesses, industries, and unique challenges to offer tailored recommendations addressing both immediate needs and long-term goals.
- Engage at all levels with decision-makers and influencers to ensure Cigna’s voice is heard and valued.
- Keep clients informed about industry trends, helping them stay ahead and leverage Cigna’s solutions.
- Strengthen financial and underwriting expertise to guide clients in managing costs and demonstrate the value of Cigna’s solutions, including specialty products.
- Drive growth, earnings, and retention across your client portfolio, meeting targets for new business and renewals while expanding relationships through cross-selling.
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to ensure alignment and build trust, delivering tailored, strategic solutions.
- Oversee client service requests, ensuring seamless execution and swift resolution by directing them to the appropriate team.
- Manage key partner relationships to align client budgets with reality, holding internal partners accountable and leveraging resources as needed.
Requirements
- Strong relationship-building skills and a passion for developing deep client connections.
- Expertise in financials, underwriting, and providing strategic solutions.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Proactive, creative thinking to develop tailored solutions for each client.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 1-3+ years of experience in health benefits or client management.
- If working remotely, a cable broadband or fiber optic internet connection with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
Skills
- Strong communication, sales negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to manage and grow client relationships, particularly with large, complex accounts.
- Experience in sales, marketing, underwriting, or operations is preferred.
- Financial acumen with the ability to identify and drive growth opportunities within a book of business.
- Demonstrated success in managing large, complex client accounts with a focus on relationship-building and revenue growth.
