Storytellers/ Actors/ Tutors - Part Time
About the role
We're looking for part-time storytellers, actors, and tutors to work in schools and communities in the Orlando area. Our mission is to teach children as young as 3 years old how to play chess through fun and engaging stories.
Responsibilities
- Tell stories to make chess lessons fun and engaging
- Use our proven curriculum with stories, games, and puzzles
- Work with our clear lesson plans, training, and ongoing support
- Show leadership potential for future "Super Tutor" roles
- Lead demo classes and build relationships with schools and community partners
Requirements
- Fun, animated, and great with children aged 3-7
- Passion for teaching and hospitality
- Organized, responsible, and reliable
- Great communicator - responsive to families, schools, and our team
- Comfortable with outreach (referrals, school contacts, community opportunities)
- Familiarity with chess is a plus but not required
- Background in performance, teaching, or early childhood education is a bonus
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Background check required at hire
Benefits
- $40/hour teaching rate
- Non-teaching/training time compensated at $25/hour
- After school hours primarily, with some in-school hours
- Choose your own hours (Monday to Friday, with optional weekends)
