The University of Connecticut Police Department is hiring for a Certified Police Officer position located in Storrs.

About the role

As a Certified Police Officer, you will provide law enforcement services to the University of Connecticut campus community. You will enforce laws, regulations, and policies, respond to emergencies, and maintain public safety.

Responsibilities

• Enforce laws, regulations, and policies
• Respond to emergencies and calls for service
• Maintain public safety
• Investigate crimes and accidents
• Provide security and patrol services

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be certified as a police officer by the State of Connecticut
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must pass a background check
• Must meet physical fitness requirements

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of criminal justice principles and practices
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
