About the role
Apex Companies is seeking a Stormwater Inspector to join our growing team in Manassas, VA. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with stormwater or environmental field experience who wants to expand their technical skills while working on a variety of projects throughout Northern Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections of stormwater management facilities and green infrastructure systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance of stormwater BMPs, including bioretention facilities and other Low Impact Development (LID) practices.
- Document field activities through photographs and detailed inspection reports.
- Identify maintenance needs and assist with implementing corrective actions.
- Assist with stormwater sampling and other environmental field investigations as needed.
- Support erosion and sediment control inspections and other environmental compliance projects.
- Work closely with project managers and senior staff to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate field documentation and communicate findings to the project team.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in stormwater, environmental consulting, construction inspection, public works, or a related field.
- Experience inspecting or maintaining stormwater management facilities, green infrastructure, or erosion and sediment control measures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a field environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Botany, or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant field experience is equally valued.

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Knowledge of local and state stormwater regulations.

Pay
- $50,000 - $60,000 annually.
