About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Stores Expeditor to join our Taft Chemical facility in Hahnville, Louisiana. This role is essential to maintaining efficient operations by managing inventory, resolving logistical issues, and supporting maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Process stores requisitions and place orders for rush items.
- Expedite stores orders and resolve storeroom, receiving, and invoice problems with accounting and vendors.
- Maintain stores capital/AFE system and obsolescence system (SMART Program).
- Process stores credits and adjust min/max levels to maintain correct inventory levels.
- Establish and distribute the Stores Issue Report.
- Serve as a back-up maintenance assistant for new contractors in Bizagi and as Headcount Assembly Leader.
- Track the plant’s critical spares, capital, and repairable stock items.
- Initiate cyclic inventory and investigate discrepancies; establish new items in stores.
- Assist in training Stores Contract employees and maintain Stores Log Sheets.
- Troubleshoot barcode technology handheld issues and reconcile consignment inventory with vendors.
- Participate in and accept responsibility for meeting plant and individual Process Safety Management (PSM) goals and monthly spreadsheet responsibilities as required by HESP-610 Procedure.
- Actively participate in the plant’s Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security (HESS) programs to ensure a safe and environmentally sound workplace.
- Assume accountability for meeting plant safety goals, including training, work permits, critical items inspections, job observations, housekeeping, hazard reporting, and safe work practices.
- Actively participate in safety meetings and promote safety by offering recommendations to other employees.
- Support and fulfill the requirements of the plant’s ISO Quality and food safety program/policy.
- Complete additional responsibilities as assigned by Plant Management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Detailed knowledge of using SAP to manage stores requisitions and material requirements expediting process.
- Ability to be qualified on operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- High proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Ability to respond to off-hour emergencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to read, write, and speak in English.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Physical requirements: Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and perform tasks involving walking, bending, and stooping.
