Job Summary

Under general supervision, responsible for the physical operation of the Central Warehouse and its storage yard. Instruct, direct, and supervise physical employees in operations related to receiving, checking, shipping, tagging, and storage of materials. Direct employees in rearranging and locating materials for efficient operation. Advise the Central Warehouse Supervisor on maintaining sufficient inventory to meet departmental demands. Promote and enforce safety practices. Assist in training employees. Attend supervisory meetings. Carry out the company's Equal Employment Opportunity program.

Job Description

  • Cook up and supervise work and personnel to maximize efficiency.
  • Collaborate with and oversee employees in receiving, checking, shipping, tagging, and storing materials.
  • Coordinate with and supervise employees in rearranging and locating materials for operational efficiency.
  • Supervise employees in issuing and returning materials to construction, maintenance, and retirement departments.
  • Advise the Central Warehouse Supervisor on maintaining adequate inventory levels.
  • Ensure adherence to safety practices to protect employees and the public.
  • Assist in training employees.
  • Participate in supervisory meetings as scheduled.
  • Carry out the company's Equal Employment Opportunity program within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Four years of experience, including at least two years of satisfactory performance as a Warehouse Material Handler A, or the equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate automotive equipment.
  • Must meet all vehicle operation requirements, including obtaining and maintaining a commercial driver's license (CDL).

Other Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise employees, coordinate their work, receive, interpret, and transmit orders, and give instructions to obtain effective work results.
  • Good working knowledge of the Company's practices and procedures regarding receiving, issuing, and storing materials.
  • Good working knowledge of material handling and storage, material handling equipment, and the operation of fork lifts, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public in a courteous and tactful manner.

Compensation Range: $35.84 - $44.80
