Storeroom/Receiver, 1st shift

Responsibilities

• Verify and keep accurate records of incoming shipments, comparing details against bills of lading, invoices, and orders.
• Accurately identify and label incoming freight using packing slips and purchase orders.
• Enter receipts, issues, and transactions into MAPICS.
• Find information about items and purchase orders, including balance on hand and dock dates.
• Enter material shortages into the MAPICS shortage report.
• Communicate with Buyers, Supervisors, and suppliers regarding shortages, damaged shipments, and last issue conditions.
• Organize material for ease of locating, minimizing damage, and considering temperature, humidity, weight limits, and space requirements.
• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, noting visible damage and discrepancies.
• Operate forklifts, bridge cranes, or hand trucks to move shipments to storage or work areas.
• Perform daily cycle counts for reorder and balance accuracy.
• Fill orders (e.g., Kanban) and distribute stock to production workers, maintaining accurate records.
• Process RMA requests.
• Report work-related injuries, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Wear required PPE and follow safety/environmental rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Experience with MAPICS or similar inventory management systems preferred.
• Forklift and crane operation experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to use hands, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
• Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate.

Pay

$24.12 - $28.49 per hour (determined by education, experience, skills, and market data).
