Store Visual Merchandiser

About the role

The Visual role at Ashley Furniture is responsible for creating visually engaging store displays, interior layouts, and balanced audio elements. This position works under the guidance of Visual Leadership to enhance the shopping experience for guests and contribute to achieving the company's sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Implement a visual merchandising strategy to support the company's sales volume and financial objectives.
• Execute visually appealing and well-balanced store merchandising displays, coordinate layout plans, and transition seasonal products.
• Remerchandise displays, signage, point-of-sale, and select areas regularly to maximize product sell-through.
• Communicate regularly with Visual management on sold items and execute floor moves or other necessary changes.
• Complete store recovery processes throughout the day.
• Maintain store interior and exterior appearance with the assistance of warehouse and housekeeping associates.
• Initiate repair and maintenance of store lighting, fixtures, paint, flooring, etc., in conjunction with store management.
• Check-in and unpackage accessory merchandise and other product shipments, coordinate product tagging, felt-dotting, and showroom placement, and participate in the bi-annual inventory process.
• Adhere to all visual merchandising standards and bulletins provided by Visual Leadership.
• Ensure audio/visual items, such as store music, sign height, etc., comply with communication standards and involve associates in visual maintenance.
• Develop high levels of knowledge on all Company products, promotions, and store functions; stay updated on fashion styles and trends.
• Mentor store staff on merchandising basics and involve them in visual maintenance.
• Collaborate with the store manager on regular tasks, visual needs, incoming products, point-of-sale materials, etc.
• Complete any additional tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the US.
• At least 18 years old.
• At least 2 years of experience in retail store visual merchandising, preferably in home furnishings.
• Regularly lift objects over 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to transport loads of 100 IBS with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Average of 2 years of education in interior design, merchandising, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Maintain reliable attendance.
• Thrive in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in interior design, merchandising, or equivalent work experience, preferred.

Pay

This position pays an hourly rate of $21.00 - $24.00.

Schedule

Flexibility to work weekends and holidays may be required.
