Store Visual Merchandiser
Purpose at Ashley
The Store Visual Merchandiser role at Ashley Furniture aims to enhance the shopping experience by creating visually engaging store displays, interior layouts, and balanced audio elements. This position works closely with the Visual Leadership team to implement innovative merchandising strategies that contribute to achieving the company's sales volume and financial objectives.
What You’ll Do
- Implement a visual merchandising strategy to support the company’s sales goals.
- Execute visually appealing and balanced store merchandising displays under the direction of Visual Leadership.
- Coordinate layout plans for furniture, lighting, and accessories.
- Remerchandise displays, signage, point-of-sale, and select areas regularly to maximize product sell-through.
- Communicate regularly with Visual management on sold items and execute floor moves or other necessary changes.
- Complete the store's recovery processes throughout the day.
- Maintain store interior and exterior appearance with the assistance of warehouse and housekeeping associates.
- Initiate repair and maintenance of store lighting, fixtures, paint, flooring, etc., in conjunction with store management.
- Check-in and unpack accessory merchandise and other product shipments in collaboration with the warehouse associate; coordinate product tagging, felt-dotting, and showroom placement; participate in the bi-annual inventory process.
- Adhere to all visual merchandising standards and bulletins provided by Visual Leadership.
- Ensure audio/visual items, such as store music, sign height, etc., comply with communication standards and involve associates in visual maintenance.
- Develop high levels of knowledge on all Company products, promotions, and store functions; stay updated on fashion styles and trends.
- Mentor store staff on merchandising basics and involve them in visual maintenance.
- Collaborate with the store manager on regular tasks, visual needs, incoming products, point-of-sale materials, etc.
- Complete any additional tasks assigned by management.
What You Bring
- Legally authorized to work in the US.
- At least 18 years old.
- 2 years' experience in retail store visual merchandising, preferably in home furnishings (preferred).
- Regularly lift objects over 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to transport loads of 100 IBS with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Associate degree in interior design, merchandising, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Maintain reliable attendance.
