Store Team Member (Cashier, Stocker, Animal Care)

About the role

As a Store Team Member at Pet Supplies Plus, you’re passionate about people and their pets. You’ll provide exceptional, neighborly service throughout your workday—helping neighbors select the perfect toy, reviewing ingredient labels, fitting harnesses, educating customers, stocking shelves, ringing up purchases, feeding pets, and keeping habitats clean, all while engaging with neighbors and maintaining a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance to neighbors selecting pet products
• Compare ingredient labels and recommend food options based on pet needs
• Fit pet gear such as harnesses and answer questions about pet care
• Educate customers on pet ownership and product use
• Stock shelves, unload deliveries, and maintain store appearance
• Operate cash registers, process transactions, and explain Preferred Pet Club benefits
• Handle and care for pets in-store, including cleaning habitats and feeding animals
• Lift and move merchandise such as bags of kibble, cat litter, and aquariums (40–65 lbs.)
• Stand for extended periods and support team members as needed
• Participate in Pet Degree pay-for-knowledge training programs
• Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Requirements

• Must be 16 years or older
• Pass a drug screening where applicable
