Store Team Member (Cashier, Stocker, Animal Care)

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity.
• Stop to help neighbors select the perfect toy for their pets.
• Compare ingredient labels of various food brands for concerned pet owners.
• Fit squirming pets with the right harnesses.
• Engage with neighbors and smile in the face of puppy breath.
• Stock shelves and ring up purchases.
• Feed pets and keep their habitats spiffy.
• Care for pets in the store, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals.
• Answer neighbor’s questions on animal care.

Qualifications

• Support each other by acting as backup when extra help is needed.
• Be knowledgeable about animals and our products to provide outstanding neighborly service.
• Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Pass a drug screening (in applicable states).
• Be 16 years or older.

About the Role

Our team members are pet lovers who enjoy knowing everything there is to know about pets and their needs. The Store Team Member position requires physical demands such as heavy lifting (40-65 lbs.) and standing for long periods of time. We support learning through our interactive Pet Degree program, which pays for knowledge gained through training and experience.
