Pay
£13.10 per hour (16-17), £14.10 per hour (18+)
Schedule
- A range of contract sizes are available: 8, 12, 16, 20, 24 hours per week, plus some larger contracts
- Shifts are generally worked in 4-hour blocks
- Variety of early morning, daytime, evening, and weekend shifts available
- Store opening hours: 8am-8pm Monday-Saturday, 9am-6pm Sundays
- Store teams required to cover operating hours of 6am through to Midnight
- Must be available to start from week commencing 26th October 2026 for induction and training

About the role
We're opening our first Home Bargains store in Guernsey on 14 November 2026 and are looking for Store Team Members to join us and help build a new team from day one. This is an opportunity to be part of a brand-new store opening and help bring Home Bargains to the Island.
As a Store Team Member, you'll be at the heart of the store, welcoming customers, keeping shelves stocked, maintaining great standards, and working across different areas of the store. Whether you're looking for your first job, a new challenge, or a role that fits around other commitments, we have a range of contract sizes and shifts available.
Responsibilities
- Provide enthusiastic customer service by assisting with product queries and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere
- Support the team in maintaining high standards across the store, including watering plants, baking fresh goods, stocking shelves, and cleaning displays and workspaces
- Unload deliveries and replenish stock during fill shifts to ensure products are available for customers
- Work across multiple areas of the business, including tills, cash transactions, shelf restocking, and roles in the Café, Bakery, or Garden Centre
Requirements
- Good understanding of customer service
- Experience of cash handling and working in a retail environment
- Experience of manual handling and stock replenishment
- Hardworking and reliable
- Polite and professional
- Must be available to work across agreed availability within 6am-Midnight operating window, including weekends and evenings
- Must have the required entitlement to work in Guernsey
- Must complete and maintain an up-to-date Home Bargains Careers Centre profile and respond to the job application questionnaire
