Store Team Member

Location: 331 Pike Street, Marietta, Ohio 45750 · Part‑time · Flexible shifts (days, evenings, overnights, weekends)

About the role

This position provides customer service, operates fuel and retail equipment, maintains store cleanliness and merchandising, handles cash and inventory controls, and ensures a safe, well‑stocked environment at a Circle K convenience store.

Responsibilities

• Customer Satisfaction: Greet and assist customers promptly and courteously; operate cash register accurately handling cash, checks, and other payments; operate fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, and telecom transactions; adhere to dress and appearance code and report to work on time.
• Facility Condition: Clean and maintain store interior and exterior; perform basic upkeep of all equipment; inspect facilities for safety, cleanliness, and proper operation; report equipment failures or supply needs to the Store Manager.
• Merchandising: Complete build‑to orders for merchandise; receive and verify vendor deliveries; maintain adequate stock levels and rotate product; place advertising and pricing signage throughout the facility.
• Sales Controls: Control merchandise, cash shortages, and selling expenses; assist with inventory levels and shift audits.
• Financial Controls: Keep accurate cash, sales, and inventory records; account for variances; report discrepancies to the Store Manager; follow guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.
• Security Controls: Report incidents including injuries, theft, property damage, sanitation or waste disposal issues; report unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct.
• Administrative: Maintain accurate shift and timekeeping paperwork; take inventory of supplies and equipment; attend job‑related meetings (may require irregular hours); provide regular, predictable onsite attendance; perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Retail sales experience preferred
• Ability to accurately operate cash registers, scanners, beverage dispensers, and other equipment
• Ability to work as scheduled and arrive on time
• Ability to communicate information clearly
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) preferred
• Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described below
• Ability to work in the conditions described below

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes (walk‑in cooler/freezer, outdoors)
• Occasionally lift/carry up to 30 lbs from ground to overhead (stocking)
• Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs from ground to waist (replenish fountain syrups)
• Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for entire shift (eye‑hand coordination)
• Push/pull with arms up to 20 lbs force (e.g., hand‑truck)
• Reach overhead, bend and twist at waist
• Communicate orally
• Operate cash register and/or computer keyboard
• Stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, and pull
• Work alone
• Exposure to occasional noise
• Stand and/or walk for entire shift
• May climb a ladder to store/retrieve materials or place/remove signs

Work Environment

• Approximately 95% of work indoors; required to clean parking lots, gas pumps, take out garbage
• Exposure to extreme cold in walk‑in cooler/freezer

• Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision

Pay

Hiring range: $13.00 – $13.50 per hour
