Store Shift Supervisor

About the role
As Store Shift Supervisor at Pet Supplies Plus, you’re pawsitively passionate about people and their pets. You will provide exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity, including:
- Assisting neighbors in choosing the perfect toy for their pets
- Greeting regular customers and their pets by name
- Teaching customers how to test water in fish tanks
- Setting an example for team members in delivering fantastic neighborly service
- Assisting store team leaders by reinforcing daily operational procedures and performance expectations
- Engaging with PSP neighbors and maintaining a positive attitude
Responsibilities
- Partner with store team leaders to learn and reinforce PSP standards and daily management routines
- Provide leadership coverage and manage store functions up to four times a week when team leaders are offsite
- Adhere to operational policies and procedures (cleanliness, animal care, safety, and security)
- Perform back-office procedures, such as making signs, updating price changes, and inputting cashier records
- Assist in store recruiting, onboarding, and team member development
- Communicate opportunities to improve community engagement or store performance to team leaders
- Act as a store team member when not performing management duties
- Perform nail trims on pets
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of retail experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong sales and customer service skills
- Ability to operate store equipment, including a forklift
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work flexible schedules and have reliable transportation
- Must pass a drug screening (where allowed by law) and be 18 years or older

Pay
USD $17.42–$18.42 per hour
