Store Shift Supervisor

About the role

As Store Shift Supervisor at Pet Supplies Plus, you’re passionate about people and their pets, providing exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity. You’ll assist neighbors with pet product choices, engage with regular customers and their pets, demonstrate tasks like testing fish tank water, and set an example for team members in delivering fantastic service.

Responsibilities

• Partner with store team leaders to learn and reinforce PSP standards and daily management routines.
• Provide leadership coverage and manage store functions up to four times a week when team leaders are offsite.
• Adhere to operational policies and procedures (cleanliness, animal care, safety, and security).
• Perform back office procedures, such as making signs, updating price changes, and inputting cashier records.
• Assist in store recruiting, onboarding, and team member development.
• Communicate opportunities to improve community engagement or store performance to team leaders.
• Act as a store team member when not managing operational tasks.
• Perform nail trims on pets as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of retail experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong sales and customer service skills.
• Ability to operate store equipment, including a forklift, and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible schedule and reliable transportation.
• Must pass a drug screening (where allowed by law) and be 18 years or older.

Pay

USD $16.50–$17.50 per hour.
