Store Sales Associate

About the role

The Sales Associate delivers excellent customer service and product knowledge to achieve high customer satisfaction. This proactive, vigilant individual engages with customers, demonstrates integrity, and communicates effectively in a dynamic retail setting. The role contributes to a positive work culture, drives employee involvement, and supports change management within the retail organization.

Responsibilities

• Processes freight and assists with price changes/markdowns.
• Balances register according to company policy.
• Bags merchandise efficiently during customer transactions.
• Handles cash, checks, and credit cards correctly per company policy.
• Obtains management approval for returns, voids, and checks when needed.
• Performs maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Provides customer service: greets customers, follows fitting room policies, rings customers promptly, thanks them for shopping, and invites them to return.
• Follows all safety procedures and maintains a professional, neat appearance, including wearing a name tag.
• Assists management in merchandising the sales floor according to stock levels.
• Explains exchange/refund policies to customers after transactions.
• Supports Loss Prevention procedures: prevents shoplifting and cash losses, reports theft or dishonesty, and follows operational policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Proficiency in mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
