Store Sales Associate

About the Role

The Sales Associate delivers excellent customer service and demonstrates knowledge of merchandise to achieve high customer satisfaction. This role requires a proactive, vigilant individual who engages with customers, communicates effectively, and thrives in a dynamic retail environment. The Sales Associate contributes to a positive work culture, drives employee involvement, and supports change management efforts.

Responsibilities

• Processes freight and assists with price changes/markdowns.
• Balances register according to company policy and handles all cash, checks, and credit cards correctly.
• Obtains management approval for returns, voids, and checks when required.
• Performs maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Provides customer service, including greeting customers, adhering to fitting room policies, ringing transactions efficiently, and thanking customers for their business.
• Follows all safety procedures and maintains a professional, neat appearance, including wearing a name tag.
• Assists management in merchandising the sales floor based on stock levels.
• Explains exchange/refund policies to customers after transactions.
• Supports Loss Prevention procedures, including preventing shoplifting and cash losses, reporting theft or dishonesty, and following operational policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Proficiency in mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages).
