Store Sales Associate

About the Role

The Sales Associate plays a critical role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction through product knowledge and engagement. This position requires a proactive, vigilant individual who demonstrates integrity, effective communication, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic retail environment. The Sales Associate contributes to a positive work culture, drives employee involvement, and supports change management efforts.

Responsibilities

• Processes freight and assists with price changes/markdowns.
• Balances register according to company policy and handles all cash, checks, and credit cards correctly.
• Bags merchandise efficiently during customer transactions and obtains management approval for returns, voids, and checks when needed.
• Performs maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Provides excellent customer service, including greeting customers, adhering to fitting room policies, ringing customers promptly, and thanking them for their business.
• Follows all safety procedures and maintains a professional, neat appearance, including wearing a name tag.
• Assists management in merchandising the sales floor according to stock levels and explains exchange/refund policies to customers.
• Supports Loss Prevention procedures, including preventing shoplifting and cash losses, reporting incidents of theft or dishonesty, and following operational policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages).
