STORE/NIGHT CLERK

Responsibilities

• Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Deliver exceptional customer service.

• Handle stressful situations effectively.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with customers and associates.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department.
• Recommend grocery items to customers.
• Check product quality and adhere to food safety regulations.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Stay current with store promotions and advertising.
• Comply with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report all safety risks/issues and illegal activity.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Effective communication skills.
• Desired: Retail experience, second language proficiency (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
