Responsibilities
- Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
- Handle stressful situations.
- Communicate effectively with customers and associates.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department.
- Recommend grocery items to customers.
- Check product quality and label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Practice preventive maintenance and report safety risks/issues.
- Notify management of accidents and illegal activity.
Qualifications
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction).
- Effective communication skills.
- Desired: Retail experience, second language proficiency (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
