Store Manager Trainee - Bench

About the Role

As a Store Manager in Training at Dollar Tree, you will receive on‑the‑job training to learn how to manage the profitable operations of an assigned store. You will maintain high standards for merchandising, placement, and store signage, using proper display techniques to create an inviting atmosphere for customers.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and hire store associates.
• Foster associate growth through training on operations and merchandising, providing coaching and corrective feedback.
• Oversee and delegate all store activities to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Implement operational and merchandising direction from corporate headquarters.
• Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution.
• Protect company assets.
• Maintain a high level of customer service across the store.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with professional and friendly interactions among customers, associates, and leaders.

Requirements

• Minimum three years of retail management experience (preferred).
• Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise; BIG BOX experience a plus.
• Strong productivity management in freight processing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment.
• Physical ability to lift 30–50 lb from floor to above shoulder height and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting (with or without reasonable accommodation).
