About the role
Catbird is looking for an experienced retail Store Manager to join the team in our Seattle store. The Store Manager is responsible for store sales, people management of the store staff, and developing store processes & procedures to continuously elevate the customer experience and overall business growth.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer experience: Work directly with customers, set the standard for customer service, coach, train, motivate, and develop multiple levels of store staff to meet customer service standards, and solve customer issues.
- Create a great employee experience: Build a bench of exceptional customer-centric sales associates, onboard, train, and develop an entrepreneurial and customer-obsessed team, provide ongoing feedback and coaching, and ensure team members have access to necessary information.
- Communicate like a pro: Give clear, kind feedback to improve performance, ensure team has access to necessary information, send clear and concise written communication, and proactively communicate with manager.
- Schedule your retail floor: Meticulously schedule the retail floor with attention to business needs, employee availability, and requested time off, ensuring the store operates efficiently.
- Manage competing priorities: Prioritize effectively to handle various tasks, manage payroll goals, and oversee store operations.
- Drive business results: Analyze business reporting on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, adjust business strategy, motivate team performance, and achieve key business metrics.
- Leverage your resources: Ask for help and use available tools to manage inventory levels, maintain visual displays, and support individual needs.
Requirements
- 2+ years retail leadership experience
- Demonstrated commitment to a team culture of kindness, respect, and organization
- Ability to prioritize time and attention when completing multiple tasks
- Flexibility regarding availability and location, must have weekend availability
- Experience creating/managing staff schedules
- Experience analyzing business reporting
- Experience with Google Office Suite (Docs, Sheets, Pages)
- A natural passion for customer service and a desire to be active on the sales floor interacting with customers
Qualifications
- Jewelry and/or clienteling experience a plus
- Retail positions involve physical requirements including standing for extended periods, light lifting, reaching, and repetitive wrist and hand movements
