Store Manager - Famous Footwear

As a full-time Store Manager at Famous Footwear, you are passionate about serving your community by providing the best shoe store experience for the whole family. You are a people leader who motivates your team to achieve sales targets and growth goals while staying up-to-date on trends and educating your team to do the same.

Responsibilities

• Inspire The Customer Connection: Foster a culture centered on customer relationships, operational excellence, and flawless delivery. Develop internal talent by assessing associates’ strengths, motivating growth, and modeling selling behaviors to enhance the Customer Connection.
• Lead Talent Discovery: Proactively seek and network with exceptional external talent to elevate store sales growth. Invest in succession planning for leadership roles and hire individuals passionate about creating top-notch customer experiences.
• Own Retail Operations: Manage day-to-day store operations, including pricing, shipment processing, and inventory. Leverage store standards to keep products easily shoppable and make strategic staffing decisions based on associate availability, peak times, and seasonal demands.
• Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: Take ownership of store goals and their impact on overall performance. Drive sales by refining strategies using business analysis and observations, and align operational efforts with available resources and key partnerships.
• Be the Architect of a Winning Culture: Create an inclusive and respectful work environment where diversity is valued. Maintain a positive mindset, especially during challenges, and promote team engagement to improve retention and performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-5 years of retail store management experience, specialty retail preferred.
• Ability to build constructive relationships, set objectives, and organize work to meet and exceed goals.
• Proven leadership skills to manage, motivate, and communicate positively with associates at all levels.
• Experience training, coaching, and developing associates.
• Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision-making, financial, and quantitative analysis.
• Expertise in general retail practices and procedures.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.
