Lead by example, train and mentor staff to help contribute to sales growth by continuously providing great customer experience through conversations that focuses on finding solutions and graciously fulfilling our customer’s needs.
Lead, train, and work with the team throughout the day, to maintain an inviting, attractive store by continuously cleaning, organizing, receiving, rotating, restocking, and facing inventory.
Perform transactions at the point of sale, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling and other financial procedures accurately and efficiently.
Contribute to the team’s growth, development, and overall performance by creating strong relationships built with fair delegation, encouragement, empowerment, and frequent communication.
Contribute to community presence by creating and developing relationships with neighboring businesses, shelters, or residences.
Identify and hire excellent candidates to build a cohesive and successful team.
Required Skills
- Must be 18 years or older
- Experienced manager with 6+ years of proven leadership in a service-oriented environment
- Has a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Experience leading a team required
- Flexibility in location and schedule
- Responsible for leading a shift while training
- Able to lift up to 45 pounds
- Competent with basic math, comfortable using computers, calculators, and 10-keys
- Has a passion to continuously learn about dogs, cats, and small animals
- Instinctively gracious: genuinely enjoys making others feel welcome
- Highly accountable: follows through on commitments
- Has integrity; says and does what she or he believes to be right
- Has good judgment; makes rational, ethical decisions aimed toward long-term goals and outcomes
- A self-starter, but happy to take direction and learn from others
