Job Responsibilities/Tasks
- Maintains and improves customer service through reminders, training, and action plans.
- Greet customers and clinic patients, offer assistance, and model customer service best practices.
- Resolve customer complaints and assist with special needs.
- Supervise store and pharmacy operations, including opening/closing, shift changes, and task delegation.
- Manage store finances, including register counts, withdrawals, and inventory management.
- Plan and implement merchandising strategies, analyze inventory trends, and manage receiving, stocking, and pricing of merchandise.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, including alcohol and pharmacy product sales.
- Support staff in using technology systems and address system problems.
- Manage store cleanliness and maintain grounds, responding to emergencies.
- Manage operations to meet financial and performance targets, including sales and cost control.
- Analyze pharmacy and clinic performance, and support during busy periods.
- Identify and pursue sales opportunities to drive store and pharmacy growth.
- Develop and implement performance plans for team members, monitor training progress, and address disciplinary issues.
- Communicate with district, corporate, and the community, and conduct outreach activities.
People and Performance Management
- Assign responsibilities, set goals, observe performance, provide feedback, and recognize team members.
- Manage team member career progression, ensure timely completion of training programs, and make hiring/promotion/termination decisions.
- Develop performance plans and follow up according to deadlines, approve compensation, and promote teamwork.
- Monitor compliance with policies and laws, and communicate openly with team members.
Training and Personal Development
- Participate in company and on-the-job training to improve skills and productivity.
- Attend training requested by District Management and corporate, including completing Walgreens School of Operations within six months.
- Pursue PTCB or ExCPT certification if required by state law.
- Seek self-development by monitoring own performance, setting high standards, learning about retail and management, and staying updated on pharmacy fields.
