About the role

We are seeking a Store Manager who can lead our team in achieving sales targets, recruiting, developing, and managing their performance. The ideal candidate is a retail maverick who believes in developing talent and delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the store achieves its sales plan and/or comp sales goals.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a collaborative and passionate team.
  • Create buzz and engage customers through social media, store web applications, and clienteling.
  • Operate a sound business, balancing organizational structure, delegation, and customer-first selling practices.
  • Communicate with retail leadership and HQ partners on trends and customer feedback.
  • Run sales reports and use data to guide strategies towards hitting sales targets.
  • Maintain a watchful eye on shrink/loss prevention, payroll hours, schedules, and external factors affecting business.
  • Mentor, recognize, and provide feedback to build a bench of equally talented, passionate staff.
  • Merchandise the store compellingly using planograms and launch promotions on time.
  • Adapt to new technologies, communicate company policies and procedures, and control supply ownership (spending only as needed).

Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years of retail store management experience.
  • Skills in communication, recruiting, and operations (payroll, reporting, scheduling, merchandising).
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent; a degree is preferred.
  • Ability to navigate the store, merchandise product, and pack/unpack boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Open-minded and inquisitive about pop culture fandoms and music trends.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should be able to navigate the store, merchandise product utilizing approved store equipment, and pack and unpack boxes of awesome merch that may weigh up to 50 pounds. Other factors such as an individual's education, location, meeting the minimum job requirements for the role, training, and experience will determine the final salary for potential new hires.

Hot Topic offers a competitive compensation package including a starting hourly rate of $19.55 - $24.45, subject to individual qualifications and other factors.
