About the Role
Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Drive the department in reaching sales and profit goals, and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the Front-end department while demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Achieve Front-end performance goals and best practices.
- Direct the day-to-day functions of Front-end operations and ensure execution of best practices, goals, and standards.
- Promote trust and respect among associates and communicate company, department, and job-specific information.
- Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve company/store goals.
- Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions and making product suggestions.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department.
- Monitor and control supply expenses and cash control for the department.
- Manage scheduling of Front-end associates to ensure adequate coverage.
- Assist store management in preparing budgets, profit and loss reviews, and financial reports.
- Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
- Responsible for all entry-level store hiring.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special advertisements.
- Monitor and control expenses, inventory, and stocking conditions; note discrepancies.
- Schedule and update daily, weekly, and monthly price changes, including shelf tags and promotional signs.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforce safety programs, comply with safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions or accidents.
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repair needs.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report safety risks or illegal activity (e.g., robbery, theft, or fraud).
- Oversee and manage the efficient operations of all Front-end functions and activities.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
- Supervise and coach direct reports, complete performance reviews, and provide feedback.
Requirements
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Retail or customer service experience.
Qualifications (Desired)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Management experience.
- Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
