Job Description
Provides a happy, educational, and fun experience for all who visit our stores
Thrives in a retail environment and will engage dog and cat owners in conversation, connect with them on a personal level, and help them find solutions to fulfill the needs of their animals, while ensuring that staff members are doing the same
Contributes to sales growth by providing complete, holistic solutions that promote long-term health for dogs and cats
Performs transactions at the point of sale, cash handling and other financial procedures accurately and efficiently
Makes decisions based on good judgment and Mud Bay's mission and values
Wants to learn continuously about animal health and nutrition and leadership
Enjoys learning and wants to learn continuously about animal health and nutrition and leadership. Willing to help others learn in a team environment
Required Skills
- 1+ years of proven leadership experience or equivalent
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Delegation, coaching and mentoring others through tasks
- Ability to give and receive feedback
- Ability to identify top business and people needs and prioritize
- Must be 18 years or older
- Experience leading a team required
- Comeptent with basic math, comfortable using computers, calculators and 10-keys
- Has a passion to continuously learn about dogs, cats and small animals
- Instinctively gracious: genuinely enjoys making others feel welcome
- Highly accountable: follows through on commitments
- Has integrity: says and does what she or he believes to be right
- Good judgment: makes rational, ethical decisions aimed toward long-term goals and outcomes

Pay
Competitive base pay: The target starting pay for this position will be at the entry point of the range, at $23.43. The pay range of $23.43 to $26.94 per hour allows our employees room for growth through annual increases and promotion potential.
Schedule
This is a full-time position, with a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of a median of 32 hours per week. Six days of scheduling flexibility are required, including both weekend days. This position will typically work five days per week, on Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday.
